Suarasurabaya.net| Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya membuka Posko Keringanan SPP (Sumbangan Pembinaan Pendidikan) dan SPI (Sumbangan Pengembangan Institusi).
Sesuai namanya, posko ini hanya ditujukan bagi para mahasiswa baru (Maba) 2007 yang berasal dari keluarga dengan latar belakang tingkat ekonomi tergolong lemah. Sehingga tidak mampu atau kesulitan melakukan pelunasan pembayaran SPP maupun SPI saat daftar ulang.
"Posko seperti ini selalu kami buka tiap tahun saat daftar ulang mahasiswa baru, untuk membantu meringankan beban para mahasiswa baru yang memang benar-benar tidak mampu," tutur NUR CHOLIS DWI SAPUTRO, Presiden BEM-ITS di posko yang dibuka di depan gedung Plaza Dr Angka kampus ITS.
Dalam rilis Humas ITS yang diterima suarasurabaya.net, disebutkan, bantuan yang ditawarkan oleh BEM-ITS atas persetujuan dari pihak rektorat ini adalah memberikan keringanan waktu atau penundaan waktu pelunasan SPP dan SPI.
"Pembayaran SPP dan SPI yang seharusnya dilunasi saat awal semester gasal ini, bisa diringankan dengan mengangsur hingga batas waktu tertentu," jelas mahasiswa jurusan Teknik Mesin ini.
Namun, saat ini masih belum ditentukan batas waktu untuk pelunasannya. Semua laporan dari mahasiswa ataupun orang tua mahasiswa yang sudah diterima di posko ini akan langsung diteruskan ke Pembantu Rektor (PR) III dan II untuk mendapat persetujuan. Selanjutnya diserahkan ke Biro Administrasi Umum dan Keuangan.
Namun, menurut NUR CHOLIS, tak semua laporan mahasiswa bisa diterima begitu saja dengan alasan ekonomi tak mampu. Tapi juga harus bisa menyerahkan sejumlah bukti tertulis yang menjelaskan kondisi ekonomi keluarganya memang tidak mampu.
Antara lain dengan surat keterangan dari kelurahan atau desa tempat domisili orang tua mahasiswa, slip gaji atau surat keterangan penghasilan orang tua, rekening listrik dan PDAM yang terakhir, fotokopi ijazah SMA, serta fotokopi KTP mahasiswa yang bersangkutan.
"Selain itu, juga harus menyertakan surat pengajuan keringanan untuk pembayaran SPP dan SPI ini," imbuhnya.
Sejak dibuka pada 3 Agustus lalu, hingga kemarin, sudah ada 57 laporan mahasiswa yang dianggap memenuhi persyaratan untuk diajukan ke PR II dan III. Jumlah itu, di luar laporan yang langsung diserahkan sendiri oleh masing-masing orang tua mahasiswa ke rektorat.
Rencananya, posko keringanan ini akan dibuka hingga 10 Agustus besok. Meski pendaftaran ulang baru akan ditutup pada 12 Agustus mendatang.(ipg)
